SpaPure pH Up (Dry) For a balanced pool, pH needs to be in the range of 7.2 to 7.6. Low pH makes the water cloudy and creates scale. High pH will make the water uncomfortable and can lead to scale formation. A pH in the ideal range is comfortable for bathers and will help prevent equipment from corrosion. Also, when the pH is in the ideal range, the water is most comfortable to spa users. If you are having difficulties maintaining a stable pH, be sure to check your alkalinity. Proper alkalinity is needed to buffer the pH and keep it stable. Adjust the alkalinity prior to the pH. To increase the alkalinity, use SpaPure Alkalinity Increaser. Be sure follow the application directions. To resolve water problems, you need to know the source of the issue. Be sure your filter is clean and optimum efficiency. Test your water to be sure your water is balanced, including the PH, alkalinity, calcium, and hardness. SpaPure is a great product line to resolve these issues. Chlorine and Bromine shocks are not effective against oily waste. EZ-Enzymes are sometimes necessary to keep this oily scum from building up along the water line and in pipes and the filter which reduces the flow of water from the spa to the filter. A shock following an enzyme treatment will then destroy the broken down waste from the enzyme treatment. SpaPure pH Balancer Application: Apply to the spa while the water is circulating When pH is below 7.2, but above 6.8, add 1 dry tablespoon of SpaPure pH Up for every 500 gallons of water. When pH is above 7.7 add 2 dry teaspoons of SpaPure pH Down for every 500 gallons of water Wait 30 minutes and test. If pH remains out of range (7.2 – 7.6), then repeat treatment
