Fiberglass Spring Plates are an essential part of any swivel rocker outdoor patio furniture chair. Most patio swivel chairs have two spring plates which allow the chair to rock back and forth. Overtime, the fiberglass spring plates eventually weaken through extended use and from being exposed to the outdoor elements; resulting in the softening or breakage of the spring plates. If you find that your outdoor swivel chair has too much rocking action, it may be time to replace the fiberglass spring plates on your chairs. Our spring plates make it easy for anyone to replace the fiberglass spring plates on their outdoor patio furniture.

Tips:

For protection purpose, wear masks, gloves and protective goggles to cover your mouth, nose, hands and eyes to avoid any fiberglass dust exposure.

For those who need more stiffness, you may double the plates (by stacking two plates instead of one) on each side.

Use your old spring plate as a pattern and mark the placement holes. You can also paint the spring plates any color to match your patio chair.

Installation process:

Step 1

Remove the old spring plates off from the chair.

Keep all original hardware removed from your chair as it will be needed for re-installation of the replacement parts.

Step 2

Use the old plates as the template to mark and drill holes on the new plates.

Note: Our spring plates are not shipped with pre-drilled holes.

Wear a mask, gloves, shoes and safety goggles when drilling holes for protection purpose.

Step 3

Install the new plates on the chair. Tip: In most cases one piece of plate on each side should be fine; however, if you need more stiffness you may stack two plates per each side.

Step 4

Re-assemble all parts the way you took them apart. Tighten all bolts & nuts to secure the chair.

Tip: Make sure the bolt and nut head never come in direct contact with the spring plate. The spring plate should always be installed in between a flat metal washer and the chair frame.
